About a year and a half from DaVinci surgery. I left mine in Arlington, Tx. I was informed on a number of items you listed regarding hardness and size reduction. Yes to both. I elected surgery as my PSA was over 20 and I had 10-12 biopsies that were 8's and 9's. Was advised I was close to having it spread most notably to my bones. I have experienced incontinence to the point of undergoing the severe pain of having a mesh sling implanted which actually made things worse. I now have had a artificial sphincter implanted with results pending till end of month. I have thought about this and am very unsure how this will work and will take some getting used to as I believe it will be awkward.
I have tried several ED medicines with no results. The Doc. did a test injection which worked so well it hurt. After seeing if the latest incontinence device works he wants to try it again and see if I can have intercourse. The surgery did reduce the size and I have had no sexual feeling. I am injecting myself with testosterone once a week and have regained energy but nothing in the way of anything sexual. In each procedure I was advised there were percentages good and bad. Unfortunately I have been contributing to the negative number. Its frustrating and very depressing and many days I ponder if I made the right decision.

Tony, Welcome to the forum. You've certainly experienced your share of difficulties post surgery. At 1.5 years out I had no results with ED meds either. The important goal of penile rehab is to have erections so you don't develop a venous leak. If I'm understanding you correctly you had one penile injection which worked. If that's true, my suggestion is to continue with penile injections at least once a week. Like you, I lost my sex drive following surgery. Don't know why, that shouldn't have happened. I have in appointment in Feb where I'm going to ask for testosterone. I thought this might bring back urges that I've lost, but it sounds like that has not happened to you. How long have you been on testosterone?
I certainly understand what it's like to live with the down sides of surgery. We paid a high price to be cured of cancer. It's taken me a long time to make peace with the changes, and to move forward and enjoy what I have left to enjoy. Hope you reach that point as well. It's a long journey to get there. Rick

How can I respond to the unfortunate results? You did ask if anyone had good results after robotic surgery. So I will answer that question. I had surgery at 9am back from recovery at 1pm. By 6pm I was walking 10 minutes every hour. By 3am the next day I started getting feeling back in my penis. At 10am that morning my wife was getting me dressed and I was getting hard. She asked the nurse if it was possible? The nurse said no. My wife laughed and said she knew what they looked like and was getting an erection. Went home and that night I had my first nocturnal erection. Hurt like hell until I released the catheter from the leg clamp. Took 50mg of Viagra for a couple of months then reduced it too 25mg. By 8 months I was biting the pills in half and at 12 months no pills needed. I do still take half a 25mg for guaranteed results. It also allows me to stay erect longer. My face turns flush so I don't like to take the pill but that means longer fore play. Now last month I was busy and sex was put on the back burner. Nocturnal erection where ignored and I did not even masturbate. When the big night came I tried no pill and very little fore play. The first attempt at penetration failed. More fore play and second attempt worked but with a 75% erection not as enjoyable. Needless to say I am back to working on blood flow. With or without my wife I work on getting and erection and keeping it hard. Am I proud to have to do this at 60? No! But after talking with my wife we agree that we are to young to give up this part of our relationship. So she is more understanding when she sees me rubbing the little one. I don't know how any man can pull up his pants and ignore this part and expect it to stay strong. I sit on the toilet and try and lift my penis. When I started I could not get it to move, now I can lift it an inch or more. I also found when I stopped my Kegel exercises I started to leak more. Back to Kegel and exercise has and I am dry again. Don't know if this is going to be a life time thing or not. But at 16 months out I need to keep working at recovery. My PSA went from 1.9 to 7 in a year. First biopsy 8 of 12 where negative 4 undetermined. Second biopsy 1 needle 20% positive. F.I.S.H. test revealed moderately aggressive cancer. 3-3 cancer was confined to the prostate. Hospital was spotless, staff very attentive, and I have never regretted my choice. I know 6 men at my gym everyone has a different result. Seeds, radiation, open pubic, and robotic. 35 years ago there was NO hope for dryness or erections. I have one friend that waited to long and even after surgery 3 year ago he is getting things in order. He has 2-3 months to live. This surgery started in 1905. Imagine what your life would have been like in that time period. One gentleman is 85, had surgery when he was 54. Never had another erection and has worn diapers ever since. He spent 3 days in ICU and 10 more days in the hospital before he was released. When I stopped exercising I started to leak again, I was pretty upset. What did he do? Gave me a hug, told me to suck it up and smile. I am 6'2", 60 years old. He is 5'7" 85 years old. Strength is not measured by the length of your penis, it is by the size of your heart. God Bless
