After trying many pads and diapers I found Depends to be the best diaper. Once you find the right brand the next step is to determine how long you can stay in a diaper without leaking. For me that was 1 hour. Many men can stay in a diaper longer. Once you know how long you can stay in a diaper, cut that time by 30 minutes and make it a habit to change before you'll need to. I didn't do very well at first and leaked through and wet through my pants on an average of 3 times per day. I needed to have a bag in my car with a change of clothing. I also discovered that black nylon pants were much better to wear than jeans.
It is difficult to adjust to living in diapers. The good news is the overwhelming majority of men experience significant improvement within the first 90 days. That said, I needed to wear diapers for 3 months, then graduated to a pad which I need to wear for the next 16 months. It took 19 months before I was diaper and pad free.
The best pad for me by far was Tena pads which can be purchase on Amazon:

There any many to choose from depending on how you are going to use the pad. If you subscribe to Amazon and get them delivered monthly you can save some money.
Here's a new type of underwear which I've never tried, but I'd sure like to hear from someone who has tried them:

Coping with the loss of urinary control is one of the more difficult aspects of post surgery life. Here's the place to discuss this issue with others who've gone through the same experiences.
