I was one of those men who could not experience an erection with the use of ED medication. After listening to Dr Mulhall's outstanding talk about penile rehab found here:

I realized there was a real possibility I could develop a venous leak and loose the capacity to have erection for the rest of my life. I was very frighted of this, but not frightened enough. When I heard what Dr Mulhall recommends to his patients-penile injections, I said: NO WAY I'M STICKING A NEEDLE INTO MY PENIS.
Instead I ordered a vacuum pump even though I knew it doesn't get good oxygenated blood into the penis. My attitude was some blood has to be better than no blood. The pump didn't work.
After much time in prayer, I gained the courage to go back to UCSF and learn how to perform penile injections. I would never have come to that decision on my own.
