Seven years ago Urologists were advising against the use of Testosterone Therapy (to increase a man's sex drive) if a man had a history of prostate cancer. When I went for a consult at UCSF to discuss this issue on 1/6/14 I was told medical thinking regarding this issue has changed. If a man has an undetectable PSA level, it is possible to get a prescription for testosterone. Here's a link that discusses this issue: Destroying the MythTestosterone Therapy For Men With PC Here's an interesting study that links low T levels with poor outcomes with prostate cancer, which turns many assumptions previously made about prostate cancer upside down: Low T & Prostate Cancer OutcomesI justed started with testosterone, and I'll be sharing my experiences soon. If you or your partner want to discuss taking testosterone supplements or share your experiences, there's the thread to do this.

Went to UCSF today. Started with 1 pump per/day with AndroGel. I'll report back whether this will make a difference restoring my sex drive and/or make a difference with sexual functioning. The results of a new study is now giving me pause as to whether the risks of taking AndroGel out weight the benefits. Here's a link to this study: Cardic Risks IdentifiedI'll be discussing this study on my next Doctor's appointment.
